Water Question

Should we be afraid of rain water? The rain water doesn’t flow through dirty pipes. But unfortunately our atmosphere is not as clean as we would like it to be. All over the Earth it is contaminated with harmful substances of all kinds (sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, radiation). The presence of these substance in the atmosphere often causes so called “acid rains”

Is it OK to store the filtered water?
Of course it’s better to use freshly filtered water but if you need to keep it overnight refrigerator can help.

Taste and odour from the tap water?
Often the water from the tap smells and tastes differently and quite unpleasant. The underlying cause for this bad taste and odor is chlorine.

What’s bad in chlorine?
The amount of chlorine in our taps does not generally make any harm to our health. But what is safe for healthy people may be unsafe for people with poor health. Those who suffer from asthma and different allergies even small amount of chlorine can cause serious problems and intensify the diseases. Then chlorine can form chlororganic substances when it is accompanied by organic substances. In such a way chloroform, chlorphenols, dioxins are formed.

Can my water problems be solved through boiling?
To some extent boiling is a way out. But can it offer the right solution to the problem? Boiling kills bacteria and the concentration of volatile organic compounds is decreased, but the amount of non-volatile organic and inorganic substances rises seriously.

Artesian water is clean, transparent and tasty. Why does it become so yellow and dirty?
On its way to our houses artesian water passes a lot of layers of clay and sand. As a result it gains mineral salts and other substances among which you can find aluminum, iron, calcium and magnesium. The amount of iron can go up to 30 mg/L. When ions react with oxygen they become oxidated and form insoluble ferric-iron. Thus the clean artesian water gets its yellow color and becomes muddy.

How can I use a prefilter?
Sometime prefilters are used to help the main filters. The play the role of barriers between extremely dirty water and the main water filter. Prefilter separates rust, sand from the water and the main filter has part of the work done by the prefilter. So the main filter has a long “life expectancy”. The size of the contaminant may be both very big and extremely small. Different types of prefilters can work with any type of contaminants whether it is a big sand particle or a small colloid. Prefilters differs from each other by the type of the material and design of its main elements.
