![]() How to Choose a Filtration SystemFiltration Systems are chosen differently from individual to individual and it’s quite difficult to say which one is better. Everything depends on the effects you want to reach, on the amount of money you want to spend and on how contaminated your water is.The first point to mention is that there’re several basic types of filtration that all the filters are based on. The most popular with private consumers are filtering systems based on reverse osmosis processes and distillation processes. But even these are not the best choice for everybody as they remove not only contaminants but also some very important minerals that our body needs. Among other types of filtration systems you can find systems based on using semi-permeable membranes, carbon filters and many others. Some of the systems filtrate only a certain type of chemicals while other toxins remain in the water you drink. Most of the water filters that are used to purify drinking water are based on carbon filtration technology. It’s especially useful for removing chlorine. But don’t forget that you need to change filter over the periods of time, which is always quite expensive. Filters with ion exchange help you to balance the amount of minerals in the water, and thus soften the water and make its taste better. The effect you can reach is a neutral pH. Minerals are balanced, they are not harmful to your health, vice versa they are useful. And such a balance is much more effective than simple removing like after distillation. Reverse osmosis water purification system demineralize the water, but being quite good in combination with other filters it can’t make a complete disinfection taken along. Besides it’s quite expensive. Then while concentrating on drinking water don’t forget about the water you cook the food with or the water you shower in. Effects that water provides through the contacts with skin may be as serious as effects the drinking water causes. While showering the pores in our skin open and hazardous chemicals and substances can easily get inside the body. If you suffer from any skin diseases then you need to pay additional attention to the quality of water. The next step is to identify whether you’d like to have a filtration system for the whole house or only for the points of use. Generally water filters that are not difficult to install and do not need professional help of a plumber are the most popular. But for some good water filters it’s worth while paying to a professional for installation. You will save your money later as you don’t have to replace the filter. |
